What may be considered
obsolete or disposable in the US may be considered priceless and life
saving in developing countries such as Guatemala, Ukraine, the Philippines and many other countries around the world
where half of the planet's population lives on less than $2 per day and
suffers from diseases transmitted by unsafe drinking water. METS is
the bridge between your loading dock and organizations in desperate need.
METS is affiliated with and supported by Rotarians in Georgia and
therefore has contacts with thousands of Rotary Clubs located in every
country. METS operates its collection program in Rotary District 6920 which includes Macon, Augusta, Savannah, Brunswick, Valdosta, Tifton and all areas in between. METS urges all hospitals, doctors, medical groups, clinics,
rehabilitation centers, pharmaceutical companies, nursing homes, home
health agencies, medical suppliers, and a host of other medically related
institutions and businesses to answer the call. We collect any and
all medical supplies that are unused and functional. This includes all one
time use items, opened or unopened that have not been in contact with
bodily fluids. We also accept items which have exceeded their sterility
date. Anything you can use in a medical facility, we can use to save lives all over the world. Even if you're not sure about your items, contact us! There are three exceptions: We do not handle any pharmaceuticals, we do not handle any liquids and we do not handle any supplies which have been in contact with bodily fluids. We will come to your facility with our truck to pick up the equipment and supplies that you would like to donate. |
